Jewelry Giveaway!
My older sister works for a jewelry company called Nomades. They create and sell military inspired charms and jewelry that help women share their story of their journey as a military spouse or personel. They sell originally designed charms that represent different branches of the military as well as hundreds of bases around the world. Stationed at 29 Palms? - buy the cute little Palm Tree charm to start your story. Got married? - Get the wedding cake charm. Stationed at Corpus Christi - there is a cute jellyfish charm with your name on it. Had a baby girl? You need the pink baby bootie charm.
You may be thinking, "Well that sounds great but I am not in the military." Me either - I can barely make my bed in the morning much less pass a barracks inspection.
But Nomades has begun to create charms for civilian life as well! To celebrate the launch of these new charms, Independent Nomades Consultant, Christy DeWitt (my sister) is sponsoring a giveaway.

The Cookie and Claire Announcement
Mr. Cookie, Claire and I have a big announcement to make. What better way to share our little announcement than with a handmade t-shirt for Claire Bear. She was so excited because the shirt had a little girl on it that looks just like her! But it's actually the letter "i" - as in...
BIG SIS!
Claire is going to be a big sister!
Coming November 17, 2012!
Finally the cat is out of the bag. Now I can share all my food aversions with you! We are so excited!
Love,

The Bunco Table: A Card Table Re-do
How often do you use your card table? Thanksgiving, Christmas, the occasional party or Bunco night?
Why not give it a little jazzing up like we did today?!
Remember Claire Zebra shoes that I made using duct tape... well I had some duct tape leftover and so I thought why not cover our card table with it!
It was a standard card table with a black plastic covered top.
First, I took the top off the frame.
Ready to start taping. You will need 2 rolls of duct tape (3 if you overlap them too much.)
Begin taping! Just fold it down over the edges. I gave myself about an inch on either side of the table to fold under.
Keep taping until you have to whole table covered. Then put it back on the frame. Thanks Mr. Cookie!
All done... wait add a little color...
Now all done!
I love it! Can't you just see a group of gals gathered around it for bunco or a girly party?
~ Great idea for decorating for a birthday party. If you don't want it this way all the time, throw a table cloth over it.
~ Most of the time, a card table just gets a wipe down with a damp cloth for clean up - the duct tape has a plastic coating which makes it perfect for this kind of clean up.
~ Don't want to use duct tape? How about scrapbook paper and ModPodge or fabric and ModPodge?
~Quick and easy. It took us 30 minutes from start to finish!
Go ahead and try it. I know you are thinking, "I could do that!"

Cookie and Claire

Quick Tip: Potty Shoes!
In the world of toddlerhood, you sometimes get "potty shoes." An overflowing accidents that ends up soaking their clothes and even down into their shoes. Poor things! Claire Bear is fully potty trained but everyone has an accident now and then! You can't toss leather shoes in the washer and dryer.
Here is my quick tip for fixing potty shoes...
Generously sprinkle baking soda inside the wet shoe. Shake the shoe back and forth to make sure the baking soda is covering the entire inside of the shoe. Leave it over night. The next morning, dump of the baking soda. You can even give them a little cleaning with you vacuum cleaner hose attachment. They should be fresh and dry since the baking soda absorbs the wetness and the odor!
Happy Potty Training!
Note: I've stopped buying the little boxes of baking soda. You should too! It is such a great all purpose household item. I use it somewhere in the house daily!
Don't forget to stop by my Digital Pampered Chef Party going on now! If you cooking, food, shopping, kitchen gadgets, etc... you'll find something you'll love!

I'm Having a Party!
When I was growing up in Memphis, there was a sweet family who had two little girls much younger than me. However, when I moved away after college, I stopped aging but this had no effect on the little girls and they began getting older by leaps and bounds. And by leaps and bounds, I mean they turned into adults - with kids and husbands, jobs - the whole deal. Has this ever happened to anyone else?!
Anyway, one of these "little" girls is now a Pampered Chef Consultant and she asked me to host a party for her! Lucky for her, I am a kitchen gadget girl and so I said sure... as long as I could do it online...
So welcome to my Digital Pampered Chef Party! Now if you were in town with me, we get together and have yummy food and drinks at this party - so grab yourself a snack and let's get started!
If you don't know anything about Pampered Chef, click here to read up on them...
But here is my two cents... I have had Pampered Chef kitchen products for the past 15 years...
~They are staples in my kitchen
~Rarely, if ever, break
~Easy to use, clean and store
~The same price range as mass merchandise stores like Bed Bath and Beyond, but better quality
Wanna take a look at some of my favorite things?!
Overall- My Favorite Top Pick:
The Medium Round Pizza Stone with Handles - $24
My "Alton Brown Wanna Be" Pick
Measure-All Cup
I'm a fan of Good Eats and Alton uses one of these babies all the time. It is great for things like peanut butter, vegetable shortening, or honey...things that tend to stick to the inside of a normal measuring cup.
It has a dry side and a liquid side - perfect!
My "$5 Favorite" Pick
All Purpose Spreader -$5
You need a tool to peel an orange?! The answer if yes! We have gotten spoiled at our house eating the Cutie Clementines! The peel so easy and there is hardly any of the white stuff - the pith - left on there. But cuties aren't cheap - 5.99 a bag sometimes! So sometimes we get regular oranges. Claire likes the taste but want more of the pith off than I can peel with my finger nails! This tool solves that problem for $1! It takes up virtually no space, but watch out. This could easily fit into the "hide it from your husband" category too! Better yet, just buy more than one!
So much More! There are so many more awesome products. Take a look at their catalog. You can order and have it sent straight to your house!
Our party will be open until April 23, 2012!
Anyone can order using this link! Click here!
When it asks you for your hosts first and last name... put Becca in the first box and robinson in the second box.
I hope you had fun at my party!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Love,
Cookie and Claire

Overall- My Favorite Top Pick:
The Medium Round Pizza Stone with Handles - $24
I have had one of these stone for 15 years. It was one of my first purchases from Pampered Chef ever. You might say, "Oh I got one of those at Target." But it's not the same. The quality of these stones are incredible. Frozen pizza and french fries will never taste the same again!
My "Hide This from Your Husband" Pick
The Apple Wedger - $13
Seriously, if you buy one of these - hide it from your husband. I made the mistake of letting Mr. Cookie take this to work one day years ago and I never saw it again. I might be getting a new one of these at this party!
I'll give you the scoop, Target has one for about $11, but the handles are plastic and can break off if you put too much pressure on them as you are pushing through the apple. This is all one metal piece - not going to break. Even though I have no idea where my apple wedger is currently, I do know that it is still in one piece and still cutting apples!
My "Father's Day is Coming" Pick
I love this for two reasons...1)It's a BBQ tool - Dads will love it and 2)It's a cleaning brush - anytime we can get a man cleaning something, that's a good idea! And it is brass bristles, so when he leaves it outside on the grill and it gets rained on, it won't rust.
My "Alton Brown Wanna Be" Pick
Measure-All Cup

My "$5 Favorite" Pick
All Purpose Spreader -$5
This is another one of my oldest and most used Pampered Chef products. I am always digging around in my drawer looking for it, only to realize that it is in the dishwasher because I just used it yesterday. It is perfect for everything from bagels to cupcakes to jam on toast (Claire's favorite!) And it's $5 - can't beat it!
My $1 Favorite Pick
Citrus Peeler- $1
You need a tool to peel an orange?! The answer if yes! We have gotten spoiled at our house eating the Cutie Clementines!
